An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge

In the story An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge there is a gentlemen named Peyton Fahrqhar is living in the time of war. He is taken by the federal army and they are going to hang him. Peyton was standing on a plank looking at the water, thinking about his family. He is dropped from the plank and hung. The story tells of how he easily got rid of his noose and ties on his hands and floated down the stream. The only problem he had was the aftermath of the noose and the soldiers shooting at him. It ended up he was delirious and this is what he thought was happening to him during the hanging. Peyton Fahrqhar died swinging from his noose with a broken neck
